Mosher Health Center at 899 Main Street. The urgent care service is the only of its kind offered in the city of Buffalo. AfterHours is also the first urgent care program in the Buffalo area to offer patients a specific time at which to receive care, a policy which significantly reduces wait times. Same-day appointments for minor injury and illness are available afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays. The Mosher Health Center will initially offer urgent care appointments from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays, expanding hours as needed. “Lifetime Health Medical Group is proud to bring this much needed service back downtown,” says Richard Dudrak II, M.D., medical director of AfterHours. “The expanded availability of AfterHours will help city residents avoid the high costs and long waits of the emergency room, and still get them the care they need on the same day.” The service is open to everyone in the community, not just Lifetime’s primary care patients. Individuals can call 716/656-4040 to reserve a same day appointment at one of three locations: the Amherst Health Center at 1185 Sweet Home Rd., the Mosher Health Center, and the West Seneca Health Center at 120 Gardenville Parkway W. The appointment line is open Monday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. AfterHours Urgent Care is intended to support a patient’s regular primary care at times when his or her doctor’s office is closed. The service is staffed by board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. All local insurances and many major national plans are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. A report of each person’s visit will be forwarded to their designated primary care doctor. AfterHours is much less expensive than a visit to the emergency room. For individuals without insurance, or in the small number of instances where a specific insurance is not accepted, payment is due at time of service. The Mosher Health Center has provided primary care to the Buffalo community since it opened in 1993, and also offers lab, x-ray, pharmacy, Ob-Gyn, pediatrics, a dental center and behavioral health services.
