Do I need to be a Lifetime Health patient in order to use the pharmacy?

The Lifetime Health Medical Group pharmacies are open to everyone, you do not need to be a Lifetime Health patient to use them. We offer a full range of prescription and over-the-counter medications at competitive prices and accept all major insurance plans.

How long will it take to get my prescription filled?

The typical waiting time for a prescription is about 10 to 15 minutes. All Lifetime Health pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions for patient safety and convenience – and this also helps cut down on wait time. In addition, if your doctor is located where we have a pharmacy and your prescription is sent during an appointment, your prescription can be ready by the time you’re ready to leave our building.

How can I get my prescription(s) refilled?

To request prescription refills:

  • Call your Lifetime Health pharmacy and use our 24/7 automated phone refill service.
  • Stop in to one of our locations. You may bring your prescription number(s) or bottle(s) with you, but if not, our pharmacy technicians can locate your prescription in our computer system.

Will my medications be refilled automatically?

We make calls to remind you when your prescription is due, and will ask if you would like your prescription refilled. We also offer a program that coordinates your prescriptions so that all of your refills are ready on the same day each month. Please see a Lifetime Health pharmacist for details.

What if there is a question about my prescription?

The pharmacist will contact you and your physician regarding any questions or concerns about your medications. Our pharmacists work closely with you and your prescribing physician to ensure that the medications you take are right for you.

Will the pharmacist give me information about my medication?

At Lifetime Health Medical Group pharmacies, we pride ourselves on having personal relationships with our patients. Our experienced pharmacists will take the time to explain your medication(s) and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

What is the difference between a prescription refill and a prescription renewal?

  • Refill:  If you have a prescription that your doctor indicates can be refilled, you can continue to have that prescription filled until you exhaust the number of refills available or the prescription expires.
  • Renewal: Once you run out of refills or the prescription has expired, a new prescription is needed. At this point, contact the pharmacy so they may ask your provider to renew your prescription.

Can I have my prescriptions transferred to a Lifetime Health pharmacy from another pharmacy?

Yes, we are happy to transfer your prescriptions for you. Just contact the Lifetime Health pharmacy at which you’d like to get your prescription and the pharmacist will make all the necessary arrangements.

Can my medications be sent to me?

Lifetime Health pharmacies will mail* your prescription and over-the-counter medications to you, free of charge. This may be especially helpful to patients who take medications on a continuing basis. In most cases, we will have your prescription in the mail within 24 hours. Deliveries will be handled by the U.S. Postal Service first class mail. We can also arrange to have your medications delivered to you for a small fee.

*Lifetime Health Pharmacies are licensed in the state of New York. We will ship prescription products within New York State and any state that does not require out of state licensure.

Do you dispense specialty medications?

Yes. Some specialty medications may need to be ordered from the manufacturer. As specialty drugs often require special handling, administration, or monitoring, our pharmacists will consult with you to answer any questions you may have about your specialty medication.

I do not have drug coverage. What are my options?

We've got you covered! Join our Prescription Club* and save on more than 5,000 generic and brand name prescription medications! More than 300 commonly used generic medications are available at $4 for 30 day supply, or $10 for 90 day supply. Enroll at any of the Lifetime Health Medical Group pharmacies. For a $10 annual membership fee, your whole family can save!
* Patients with Medicare Part D, Medicaid, state or federally funded prescription plan coverage are NOT eligible for membership in the Prescription Club.
